Overseas Round Up Vol. 3

In the first game of the week for Connecticut Sun players overseas, Natisha Hiedeman and Lulea Basket defeated Telge 72-68. Hiedeman scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds and handed out eight assists. This marked the team’s fourth straight win in the Swedish Basketball League and keeps them ranked second among opponents.

 

Morgan Tuck appeared in her first overseas game of the 2019-20 season. Tuck, a member of Cukurova in Turkey, recorded a team high 21 points and six rebounds in her debut. Cukurova fell to Fenerbahce, 83-59. Fenerbahce is the top team in the Turkish Basketball League.

 

On the same day in the Turkish league, Courtney Williams and Izmit captured their second straight win in Turkish play. In Izmit’s 78-65 victory over Botas, Williams scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

 

Alyssa Thomas and Brionna Jones played against Czech’s U-19 team and the USK male cadets. USK Praha came up with a 140-45 win against the U-19 team and a 130-42 win against the gentlemen.

 

Thomas, Jones and Tuck will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 27, in Euro League play, while Hiedeman will compete again on Thursday, Nov. 28 in Euro Cup action. Williams and Tuck will face off against one another in the Turkish Basketball League on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Thomas and Jones will compete in Czech play.
