Connecticut Sun Announce Partnership with Saysh

Uncasville, CT (May 8, 2024) – Today, the Connecticut Sun announced its partnership with Saysh, a brand where style meets functionality in performance sneakers designed for women, by women.

Co-founded by Allyson Felix, the most decorated track & field athlete of all time–Saysh was created to address a gap in the industry that Felix noticed during her track & field career–a lack of consideration for women’s unique needs in sports and footwear. Founded in 2021 ahead of Felix’s fifth and final Olympic games in Tokyo, Allyson teamed up with her brother, Wes Felix, to create her own pair of shoes to run in – making history as the first Olympic athlete to ever compete in their own brand. This energized them even further to continue advocating for women, so they built Saysh, a collection of stylish, functional running sneakers that put women at the forefront of all design and brand practices. Saysh exists because women deserve better.

“I am thrilled to announce our partnership with the Connecticut Sun for this historic WNBA season. This collaboration, built on synchronicities between our brand values of excellence, respect, representation and accountability, furthers our commitment to equity in women’s athletics. Like track, basketball is a sport that provides opportunity for youth of all socioeconomic backgrounds to participate and thrive with low barriers to entry. Our organizations are both made up of mothers, champions and changemakers who’ve dared to dream differently and fought to make those dreams a reality for all women. I am eager to announce Saysh’s first WNBA partnership with the Sun and expand our impact to more female athletes of all ages.” – Allyson Felix

Saysh will be sponsoring several events hosted by the Connecticut Sun throughout the 2024 season–most notably, the Connecticut Sun’s annual Maternal Health Drive that will take place across three games–September 1 and 3 vs. the Seattle Storm, and September 6 vs. the Las Vegas Aces. Proceeds go to Connecticut Sun community partners, the Village for Families & Children and Bridge to Success.

“We are thrilled to work with Saysh. Having so many mothers in different aspects of our organization balancing motherhood and their careers, we connected with Allyson’s story here at the Connecticut Sun. Her courage as an Olympian, mother and trailblazer within the sports industry has inspired so many people and aligns with our team’s values of elevating women and women’s issues to the forefront.” – Jen Rizzotti, Connecticut Sun President

About Saysh

Saysh, founded by Olympian Allyson Felix and her brother Wes Felix, is a performance footwear brand built on the unwavering belief that women deserve better. They understand the inherent inequality women face across many areas of society. The athletic footwear industry, which historically designs “women’s shoes” as shrunken versions of men’s models, is a glaring example. Saysh is challenging the status quo by creating ethically and sustainably manufactured running shoes designed specifically for the female foot. Their commitment to women extends beyond footwear. In an industry first, they championed the Maternity Returns Policy to support changing needs during pregnancy. Their award-winning Saysh One and The Felix Runner aren’t simply shoes; they’re tools of empowerment. Beyond products, they foster the Saysh+ community—a space for women to run, connect, and uplift each other. Saysh exists to pave the way for a more equitable and fulfilling world for women. Shop the collection online at Saysh.com or at select retailers.
