Uncasville, CT (April 26, 2024) – Today, Connecticut Sun General Manager Darius Taylor and Head Coach Stephanie White finalized the 2024 training camp roster. The team will begin training camp on Sunday, April 28 in Uncasville, CT at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The Sun’s training camp roster returns seven players from the Sun’s 2023 squad, led by the WNBA’s all-time leader in triple-doubles and 2023 All-WNBA First Team member, Alyssa Thomas, five-time WNBA All-Star DeWanna Bonner and two-time WNBA All-Star Brionna Jones. Additionally, Sun guard, DiJonai Carrington, will return for her fourth training camp, while Tyasha Harris and Olivia Nelson-Ododa will be back with the team for their second camp with the Connecticut Sun. Leigha Brown will appear in her first training camp with the Sun this season, as she was acquired by the team post-training camp in 2023.
Moriah Jefferson, Tiffany Mitchell and Astou Ndour-Fall will attend their first Sun training camp this season. Mitchell was acquired by Connecticut on January 31 in a trade with the Minnesota Lynx. Jefferson was acquired by the team in a sign-and-trade deal with Phoenix on February 3. Ndour-Fall signed with the Sun as a free agent on February 3. Rachel Banham, originally drafted fourth overall by the Sun in the 2016 WNBA Draft, returns to Connecticut after playing four seasons with the Lynx from 2020-2023. Banham signed the Sun as a free agent on February 1 and will appear in her fifth training camp for the team, after playing with the organization from 2016-2019.
Taiyanna Jackson (No. 19 pick) and Helena Pueyo (No. 22 pick), two of the Sun’s 2024 draftees, will be in attendance. Leila Lacan (No. 10 pick) and Abbey Hsu (No. 34 pick) will attend camp in the coming years. Additionally, Rennia Davis, Shey Peddy, Kianna Smith, Sydney Wiese and Jocelyn Willoughby will compete for a spot on the Connecticut Sun’s 2024 roster.
