Uncasville, CT (January 3, 2023) – Brionna Jones, Alyssa Thomas and USK Prague opened overseas play back up on Friday, December 30 with an 102-65 victory over KP Brno. Jones led her team with 31 points, nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks. Thomas notched her third triple-double of the season with 13 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and two blocks in the victory.
Natisha Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod defeated Hertzliya, 88-70, in an Israeli League matchup on Monday, January 2. Hiedeman filled the stat sheet for her squad, tallying 10 points, seven rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and two blocks in the win.
Joyner Holmes and Sassari picked up their first win in the New Year, defeating Brixia, 102-80, in an Italian League contest on Monday, January 2. Holmes led her team with a double-double, finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
Connecticut Sun players are back in overseas action this week beginning with Bonner and CBK Mersin taking on Perfumerias Avenida at 11:00 AM ET; and Thomas, B. Jones and USK Prague playing Szekszard at 12:00 PM ET on January 4. Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod match up against Elitzur Ramla at 12:00 PM ET; and Holmes and Sassari play Venezia at 2:00 PM ET on January 5. On January 6, Thomas, B. Jones and USK Prague take on Ostrava at 11:00 AM ET. To close out the week, Bonner and CBK Mersin play Fenerbahce at 8:00 AM ET; and Holmes and Sassari match up against Valdarno at 1:00 PM ET on December 7.
