GAME HIGHLIGHTS

- Dallas led Connecticut, 22-7, after the first quarter of play. The Sun were held to just 20% (3-15) from the field in the opening ten minutes, while the Wings shot 47.4% (9-19) in the first.
- The Sun opened the second quarter on a 12-9 run to cut the Wings’ lead to 12, 31-19, with 6:13 to play in the half. DeWanna Bonner had seven points to lead Connecticut in scoring in the opening minutes of the second.
- The Wings responded on a run of their own extended their lead up to 19, 44-25, with 1:39 to play in the second quarter.
- Connecticut trailed Dallas, 46-30, after the first half of action. Bonner led the Sun with nine points, one rebound, two assists and one block through twenty minutes of play.
- The Sun were held to 10-29 (34.5%) shooting, while the Wings were 18-35 (51.4%) from the field after two quarters.
- Dallas opened the third quarter on a 12-7 run to extend their lead to 21, 58-37, forcing Connecticut into a timeout. Jones had five of the Sun’s seven points in that stretch out of the locker room.
- The Wings outscored the Sun, 30-17, in the third quarter to take a 76-47 lead into the fourth. Jones had seven points and two rebounds to lead Connecticut in the quarter.
- Connecticut began the fourth quarter on a 10-7 run to make it 82-57 with 6:56 remaining in the contest. Jones had four of the Sun’s 10 points in that stretch.
- The Sun bench provided a late run in the fourth, outscoring the Wings, 26-8, with 1:46 to play in the quarter. DiJonai Carrington had nine of her 13 points in that span.
- Despite the late run by the Sun, the Wings ultimately picked up with 89-79 win, forcing game three of the first round of the playoffs.
- Connecticut outscored Dallas in the paint (42-40) and in bench points (35-27), while Dallas won the battle in second-chance points (23-11) and fast-break points (10-4).
