GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• The Connecticut Sun defeated the Dallas Wings, 93-68, in the first of the best-of-three playoff series.
• The Sun were led by Jonquel Jones who had 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one block.
• Allisha Gray finished with 17 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals to lead the Wings in the effort.
• With seven assists in the game, Alyssa Thomas passed Lindsay Whalen for first all-time in assists in postseason play in Connecticut Sun history, with 107 assists.
• The Sun opened the contest outscoring the Wings, 14-9, heading into the first media timeout. Jones led Connecticut in the opening minutes with seven points, one rebound, one assist and one block.
• Connecticut led Dallas, 22-19, after the first quarter of play. Jones led all scorers with seven points, while Courtney Williams added six points, one rebound, three assists and one steal in the first ten minutes of action.
• The Sun began the second quarter on an 11-4 run, taking a 33-23 lead with 5:55 to play in the half. Jones, DeWanna Bonner and DiJonai Carrington each had three points in that stretch.
• With 3:14 remaining in the second quarter, Connecticut pushed their lead up to 12, 39-27.
• The Sun took a 47-37 lead over the Wings into the break, outscoring them 25-18 in the second quarter of the contest.
• Jones finished the first half with 15 points, five rebounds, one assist, and one block to lead Connecticut. Satou Sabally led Dallas with 10 points, two rebounds and one assist through two quarters.
• The Sun shot 43.2% (16-37) in the first half, while the Wings were 45.2% (14-31) from the floor.
• Connecticut outscored Dallas in the paint (18-16), in second-chance points (8-5) and on the fast-break after twenty minutes of action.
• The Sun opened the second half on a 10-8 run, taking a 57-45 lead with 5:24 to go in the third quarter. Williams had four of Connecticut’s 10 points in that opening stretch out of the locker room.
• Connecticut took a 68-50 lead over Dallas after three quarter of play. The Sun outscored the Wings, 21-13, in the third, with Thomas leading the way with six points, along with three rebounds and two assists in the quarter.
• Each squad opened the fourth quarter notching 11 points, to make it 79-61 with 5:26 to play in the contest.
• The Sun finished the game on a 14-7 run to take the first game of round one of the playoff series, 93-68.
• Thomas finished with a double-double, notching 15 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block in the win.
• Carrington scored her first career-postseason points, adding 13 points, six rebounds and two steals in 18 minutes off the bench.
• The Sun shot 52.1% (37-71) on the night, while holding the Wings to 41.3% (26-63) from the field.
