Tuck Reflects On MLK Day

All over the United States today, people are observing Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Connecticut Sun forward Morgan Tuck, who is currently playing professionally in China, recently shared her own thoughts about what the day means to her.

“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is important because he was someone who fought for the rights of people of color and (for the idea) that all people are equal and should be treated as such,” she says. “No matter their race or where they came from, in all aspects of life, people should not be treated any different because of the color of their skin.”

As far as Tuck is concerned, King should always be remembered for the movement he inspired.

“Dr. King was and is still a leader of a movement of equality for people of color,” she says. “He was huge part of making life better for a lot of people and we need to remember that every day, but especially on MLK Day.”
