Sun Take on Sky for Final Time Wednesday
Chicago, IL: The Connecticut Sun (10-30) travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Sky (9-30) on Wednesday, September 3 at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT at Wintrust Arena. The game will air locally on NBC Sports Boston with Brendan Glasheen and Terrika Foster-Brasby on the call. It will also be available to stream on WNBA League Pass.
The Sun fell in their last game to the Atlanta Dream, 93-76, at home in Uncasville. Tina Charles led Connecticut with 22 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Charles finished 10/20 from the floor and 2/2 from the free-throw line. It marks the 19th time the veteran forward has led the Sun in scoring this season and her 14th 20+ point performance of the year. Charles enters Wednesday’s game just two field goals from tying Diana Taurasi for first all-time in field goals made in WNBA history. Rookie guard Leila Lacan added 17 points, three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in the effort. Lacan has grabbed two steals in 15 of her 23 games played this season. She has also finished with 17+ points in three of the Sun’s last four contests.
Last time out against the Chicago Sky on August 23, the Sun were victorious, 94-84, on the road in Chicago. Tina Charles led the Sun with her 200th career-double-double, notching 23 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and one block in the win. She is the only player in league history to achieve the mark, as she picked up her 86th double-double in a Sun uniform and sixth double-double this season. Marina Mabrey added 20 points, four rebounds, a season-high eight assists and two steals in the win. The Sun enter Wednesday’s game with a 39-33 all-time regular season record against the Sky and have won the last five road meetings dating back to the 2023 season.
The Sky enter Wednesday’s contest coming of a 79-69 loss against the Seattle Storm on August 30. Angel Reese notched her 22nd double-double of the 2025 season to lead Chicago with 20 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Reese currently leads the Sky in points per game (14.6) and rebounds per game (12.6), which is also good for first in the WNBA.
