Sun Back Home Wednesday Night Against Sky

Uncasville, CT: The Connecticut Sun (5-26) are back at home at Mohegan Sun Arena on Wednesday, August 13 at 7:00 PM ET to host the Chicago Sky (8-23) at 7:00 PM ET. The game will air locally on NBC Sports Boston with Brendan Glasheen, Ashley Battle and Terrika Foster-Brasby on the call. It will also be available to stream on WNBA League Pass.

In their last game on Monday night, the Sun fell in a matchup with the Golden State Valkyries, 74-57, on the road in San Francisco. Connecticut debuted a new starting lineup of Bria Hartley, Marina Mabrey, Leila Lacan, Aneesah Morrow and Olivia Nelson-Ododa. Nelson-Ododa stepped back into the starting lineup with Sun center Tina Charles missing the game due to rest. Rookie forward Aneesah Morrow led Connecticut with her third double-double of the season. She notched 14 points, 13 rebounds and one steal in 24 minutes played in the game. Olivia Nelson-Ododa was the only other Sun player in double figures, tallying 12 points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks. She finished a perfect 5/5 from the field on the night.

Last time out against the Chicago Sky on June 15, the Sun fell 78-66, at home in Uncasville. Marina Mabrey led the Sun with 22 points, five rebounds and three assists in the effort. She nailed a season-high five three-point field goals, going 5/12 from beyond the arc. Tina Charles added 19 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal in the 36 minutes played. Charles went 8/20 from the field and 2/2 from the free-throw line. Connecticut enters Wednesday’s game with a 37-33 all-time regular season record against the Sky, including a 19-15 record when playing at home.

The Sky enter Wednesday’s game coming off a 92-70 loss to the Indiana Fever on Saturday, August 9. Former Sun guard Rachel Banham led the Sky with 11 points and three assists, while rookie forward Maddy Westbeld added 10 points and six rebounds. After serving as an assistant with the Las Vegas Aces for three seasons (2022-2024), Head Coach Tyler Marsh is in his first season at the helm of the Sky.
