Sun Host Fever on Sunday Afternoon

Uncasville, CT: The Connecticut Sun (5-26) are back in action at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, August 17 at 1:00 PM ET to host the Indiana Fever (18-16). The game will air nationally on NBA TV and locally on NBC Sports Boston with Brendan Glasheen, Meghan McKeown and Terrika Foster-Brasby on the call. It will also be available to stream on WNBA League Pass.

In their last game on Wednesday night, the Sun defeated the Chicago Sky, 71-62, at home in Uncasville. Rookie Leila Lacan led the Sun with 17 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals in 30 minutes played. Her rookie counterpart Saniya Rivers also became the 8th rookie in WNBA history to tally at least eight points, three rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks in a regular season game. Connecticut recorded a season-low six turnovers on the night, results in just five Chicago points. The Sun turned Chicago over 21 times, scoring 16 points of their mistakes.

Last time out against the Indiana Fever on July 15, the Sun fell 85-77, at the TD Garden in Boston. The two teams played in front of a sold-out crowd, with 19,156 tickets sold, marking the third sell out of the 2025 season for the Sun, the third highest attendance to a WNBA game this season to date, and the second largest number of tickets sold to a Connecticut Sun game in the franchise’s history. Tina Charles led the Sun in the effort with her fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 21 points, a season-high 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in the game. Rookie guard Leila Lacan added a career-high 19 points.

The Fever enter Sunday’s game coming off an 88-84 home loss to the Washington Mystics on Friday, August 15. Aliyah Boston led the way in the effort with 20 points and nine rebounds, while four other Fever players finished in double digits. Indiana has dropped four of their last five contests, after winning their previous five from July 24 through August 3. Three-time WNBA All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell is currently leading Indiana in scoring at 19.9 points per game.
