Sun Close Out Road Trip with Dream on Sunday Afternoon

Atlanta, GA: The Connecticut Sun (0-3) close out their first road trip of the season when they take on the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, May 25 at 3:00 PM ET at Gateway Center Arena at College Park. The game will air on NBC Sports Boston, with Brendan Glasheen and Terrika Foster-Brasby on the call, and is also available to stream live on WNBA League Pass.

The Sun fell to the Minnesota Lynx on the road on Friday night, 76-70. Marina Mabrey led the Sun with a season-high 22 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the effort. Haley Peters added a season-high 12 points in 20 minutes played off the bench. She also grabbed six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Peters finished with a team-best +/- of +10. Despite the loss, Connecticut made a season-high 10 three-point field goals in the game, after making just three three-pointers in each of their first two regular season contests.

The Connecticut Sun and Atlanta Dream split the 2024 regular season series, 2-2. In their final meeting in Atlanta on August 18, 2024, the Dream defeated the Sun, 82-70. Sun center Tina Charles played the 2024 season with the Dream and recorded 22 points and 15 rebounds for Atlanta in the meeting. The Sun have won seven of the last ten regular season meetings, dating back to the 2022 regular season. Connecticut is 12-19 all-time against the Dream when playing on the road in Atlanta.

Atlanta’s 2025 roster features a mix of youth and experience, including the new additions of 10-time WNBA All-Star center Brittney Griner and former Sun forward and 2022 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year Brionna Jones. Sunday’s contest marks the third game in four days for the Dream, as they hosted the Indiana Fever on Thursday and Dallas Wings on Saturday. Head Coach Karl Smesko enters his first season at the helm in Atlanta, after previously serving over 20 years as the Head Coach for Florida Gulf Coast Women’s Basketball team.
