Sun and Fever Face Off on Friday Night in Indianapolis
Indianapolis, IN: The Connecticut Sun (0-5) are back on the road to take on the Indiana Fever (2-3) on Friday, May 30 at 7:30 PM ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Sun are looking to avoid starting the season 0-6 for the first time in franchise history. The game will air nationally on ION and is also available to stream live on WNBA League Pass.
The Sun fell to the Dallas Wings at home on Tuesday night, 109-88. Tina Charles finished with a season-high 27 points, along with six rebounds, three assists and one steal on the night. Marina Mabrey added 19 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in the game. She tallied a season-high four three-point field goals in 28 minutes of action.
The Connecticut Sun and Indiana Fever met six times during the 2024 regular and postseason. The Sun won the regular season series, 3-1, but the Fever took home the most recent regular season matchup on August 28, 84-80, in Indianapolis. Prior to that loss, the Sun had won 11 straight regular season contests against the Fever, dating back to the 2022 season. Connecticut also defeated Indiana, 2-0, during the opening round of the 2024 WNBA playoffs. The Sun are 58-32 all-time against the Fever during the regular season, including a 25-21 record on the road in Indianapolis.
Indiana enters Friday night’s game coming off an 83-77 loss to the Washington Mystics on the road on Wednesday night. The 2025 Fever roster welcomes many new faces including former Sun guard-forward and WNBA veteran DeWanna Bonner, who played with Connecticut from 2020-2024. Indiana also picked up WNBA vets Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, Natasha Howard and Brianna Turner during the 2025 free agency period.
