Uncasville, CT (April 4, 2022)- DeWanna Bonner and CBK Mersin began this week’s overseas play with a victory over Turkish League opponent Ormanspor, winning 94-63. Bonner notched a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the win. Later in the week, Bonner, Jasmine Thomas and CBK Mersin defeated Izmit, 78-69, in another Turkish League matchup. J. Thomas led the way for her team with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists. Bonner added 15 points, four rebounds, one assist and one block. CBK Mersin is third in Turkish League standings with a record of 18-4.

Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and USK Praha defeated KP Brno in Game 2 of the Czech League Semifinals, 107-46. B. Jones had 11 points, seven rebounds, two steals and one block in the win. A. Thomas tallied 10 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. Two days later, B. Jones, A. Thomas and USK Praha played KP Brno in Game 3 of the Czech League Semifinals, winning 120-55. B. Jones notched an impressive double-double with 23 points and 17 rebounds, along with one steal and one block. A. Thomas added six points, four rebounds and eight assists in the semifinal victory. USK Praha advances to the Czech League Championship game where they will play No. 2 seed Zabiny Brno.

Yvonne Anderson and Umana Reyer took on Italian League opponent, Broni, winning 72-53. Anderson notched seven points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal in the win. Umana Reyer is currently third in Italian League standings with a record of 17-2.

Stephanie Jones and Gorzow fell in Game 3 of the Polish League Semifinal series against top-seeded Polkowice, 54-44. S. Jones tallied a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal. The loss of the series ended Gorzow’s journey to the Polish League Championship. They finished their run for the title with a 13-7 record and fourth in Polish League standings.

Beatrice Mompremier and Uni Gyor took on Hungarian League opponent, TFSE-MTK, in Game 1 of the playoff series for fifth place in the league. Uni Gyor was victorious, winning the match 87-64. Mompremier tallied 13 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in the win.

Connecticut Sun players return to overseas action this week beginning with a Connecticut Sun match-up in the EuroCup Semifinal where Bonner, J. Thomas and CBK Mersin will take on Anderson and Umana Reyer at 11:00 A.M. EST on April 5. Mompremier and Uni Gyor will play TFSE-MTK in Game 2 of the Hungarian League playoff series at 1:00 P.M. EST on April 6. On April 8, B. Jones, A. Thomas and USK Praha play in the EuroLeague Semifinals against Fenerbahce at 10:00 A.M. EST; and Mompremier and Uni Gyor will play TFSE-MTK if needed at 12:00 P.M. EST. S. Jones and Gorzow take on Arka Gdynia at 12:00 P.M. EST on April 9. To close out overseas action this week, CBK Mersin play Turkish League foe Elazig at 9:00 A.M. EST on April 13.
