Uncasville, CT (March 21, 2022) – Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and USK Praha began this week’s overseas play falling to Famila Schio, 69-56, in Game 2 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals. B. Jones led the way for her team with 18 points, 17 rebounds, two assists and two blocks. A. Thomas also notched a double-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. Three days later, B. Jones, A. Thomas and USK Praha battled against Famila Schio for the third time in eleven days, winning Game 3 of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals, 90-77. A. Thomas had 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals in the playoff victory. B. Jones tallied a double-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals. USK Praha won the EuroLeague Quarterfinals series 2-1 and moves on to the Semifinals to play Turkish opponent, Fenerbahce Safiport.

Yvonne Anderson and Umana Reyer Venezia dropped a close Game 1 of the EuroCup Quarterfinals against Valencia, 61-57. Anderson had 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the effort. Anderson and Umana Reyer finished the week with a victory against Valencia in Game 2 of the EuroCup Quarterfinals, winning 75-67. Anderson led the way for her squad, finishing with 23 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. With a combined Game 1 and Game 2 score of 132-128, Umana Reyer won the Quarterfinal series and will move on to play CBK Mersin in the EuroCup Semifinals.

Dewanna Bonner, Jasmine Thomas and CBK Mersin were victorious in Game 2 of the EuroCup Quarterfinals against Lyon, 82-68. Bonner notched a double-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal and three blocks in the playoff victory. J. Thomas added 14 points, two rebounds, four assists and three steals. The win secured CBK Mersin’s spot in the EuroCup Semifinals where J. Thomas and Bonner’s squad will play Anderson’s Umana Reyer. Following their EuroCup playoff win, CBK Mersin defeated Turkish League opponent, Izmit, 85-55. Bonner tallied 13 points, three rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block. J. Thomas finished with seven points, four rebounds and four assists.

Stephanie Jones and Gorzow fell in a close matchup to Sleza Wroclaw in Game 3 of the Polish League Quarterfinals, 67-66. S. Jones had a double-double with 23 points, 15 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in the contest. The following day, S. Jones and Gorzow defeated Sleza Wroclaw in Game 4 of the Polish League Quarterfinals, 77-70. S. Jones finished with another double-double, tallying 17 points and 10 rebounds, along with two assists and two steals. Gorzow moves onto the Polish League Semifinals to face Polkowice.

To close out overseas play this week, Beatrice Mompremier and Uni Gyor matched up against Miskolc in Game 1 of the Hungarian League Semifinal series, falling 77-73. Mompremier had 11 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one block in the effort. Uni Gyor trails in the series, 0-1.

Connecticut Sun players are back in overseas action this week starting with B. Jones, A. Thomas and USK Praha playing Ostrava in Game 2 of the Czech League Quarterfinals at 11:30 A.M. on March 22. Bonner, J. Thomas and CBK Mersin take on Hatay in Turkish Cup play at 12:30 P.M. EST; and Mompremier and Uni Gyor play Miskolc at 1:30 P.M. EST in the Hungarian League playoffs on March 23. B. Jones, A. Thomas and USK Praha face off against Ostrava in Game 3 of the Czech League Quarterfinals at 12:30 P.M. EST; and Anderson and Umana Reyer take on Italian League opponent, San Giovanni, at 1:00 P.M. EST on March 25. S. Jones and Gorzow play at Polkowice in Game 1 of the Polish League Semifinals at 2:00 P.M. EST; and Mompremier and Uni Gyor play at Miskolc at 12:00 P.M. EST, if needed, on March 26. To close out the week, S. Jones and Gorzow play Polkowice in Game 2 of the Polish League Semifinals at 2:00 P.M. EST on March 27.
