Overseas Round Up Vol. 1

See how the Connecticut Sun players are performing overseas after the week of Monday, October 28.

For ZVVZ USK Praha, Alyssa Thomas led her team to an 82-28 victory over Gelecek Koleji Cukurova on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Thomas scored a team high 19 points on 9-of-11 from the field and led the team with 12 rebounds and six assists. Teammate Brionna Jones also contributed 10 points on 50% shooting and tallied nine rebounds. In ZBL play, Jones led her team to victory (116-61) with 21 points and nine rebounds. Thomas contributed 15 points and seven rebounds. USK Praha stands at 8-1 overall, 5-0 in ZBL play and 3-1 in the EuroLeague.

Natisha Hiedeman and Lulea BBK fell to ACS Sepsi 81-74 in which Hiedeman scored a team high 29-points on 11-of-19 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. The rookie also grabbed five rebounds and dished out a team-high seven assists. Through two games in the EuroCup league, Hiedeman has 42 points and 13 assists.

Courtney Williams and Izmit Belediyespor went 1-1 for the week. On Monday, Oct. 28 Izmit defeated Adana BK 101-94 and on Sunday, Nov. 3 the team fell to Hatay 76-67. Williams posted a team high 35 points in her first game with Izmit on Monday and also had seven rebounds and 8 assists. In Sunday’s loss to Hatay, Williams scored 14 points.

Layshia Clarendon competed in game one of the USA Basketball College Tour. Clarendon played in her first game since injuring her ankle in the beginning of the 2019 WNBA season. The Cal State graduate played against Stanford in which USA pulled out a 95-80 victory.
