Jocelyn Willoughby Signs with the Connecticut Sun

Uncasville, CT (February 19, 2024) – Today, the Connecticut Sun announced that Jocelyn Willoughby has signed a training camp contract extended by Sun General Manager Darius Taylor. Per team policy, no details were released.

Willoughby was originally drafted 10th overall in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Phoenix Mercury and was then acquired by the New York Liberty in a draft-day trade. The 6-0 guard has played three seasons with the New York Liberty from 2020-2023, missing the 2021 season with a torn Achilles. Over 62 career games, Willoughby has averaged 3.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per contest. This offseason, she is currently playing overseas in Australia’s WNBL with Adelaide, averaging 13.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

“We are pleased to welcome Jocelyn Willoughby to Connecticut,” said Taylor. “She was a first round talent that has been hampered early in her career by injuries. Now that she’s healthy, we look forward to seeing how she can help our depth on the wing.”

The Sun tip off the 2024 season on Tuesday, May 14 against the Indiana Fever at 8:00 PM EST at Mohegan Sun Arena.
