GAME PREVIEW: Sun Back Home Against Undefeated Minnesota Thursday Night

Uncasville, CT– The Connecticut Sun (3-0) are back home at Mohegan Sun Arena to host the Minnesota Lynx (2-0) on Thursday, May 23 at 7:00pm ET. The game will air on NECN and can also be streamed on the NBC Sports app or WNBA League Pass.

Last time out on Tuesday, May 20, the Connecticut Sun defeated the Indiana Fever, 88-84, in Indianapolis. Alyssa Thomas led the Sun with 24 points, 14 rebounds, nine assists, one steal and one block. She is the first player in WNBA history to record a game with 24+ points, 14+ rebounds and 9+ assists.

Connecticut is 30-26 all-time versus Minnesota and have won eight of the last regular season meetings dating back to the 2021 season. The Sun won the 2023 regular season series, 3-1. In their most recent regular season meeting on August 1, 2023, Sun forward Alyssa Thomas made WNBA history, becoming the first player in league history to record 20+ points, 20+ rebounds and 10+ assists in a game, with 21 points, 20 rebound and 12 assists in Connecticut’s 79-69 win.

Minnesota remains undefeated on the season, picking up two wins against Seattle to start 2024. The Lynx won their most recent match up, 102-93, in double-overtime on Friday. Head Coach Cheryl Reeve is in her fourteenth season with Minnesota and is 17-19 all-time against the Sun.
