Connecticut Sun to Continue Partnership with Microsoft for Second Year

Uncasville, CT (April 12, 2024) – Today, the Connecticut Sun announced its second year in a partnership with Microsoft for the 2024 season.

“We are excited to partner with the Connecticut Sun for another season,” said Amy Sorokas, Microsoft Director of Strategic Partnerships. “Bringing their passion for basketball to science, technology, engineering, and math, we are partnering with the Sun to add STEM activities to the Sun Academy and provide other opportunities to learn more about how STEM comes to life in the game.”

Knowing that many young girls leave science careers at the same time they stop playing sports, Microsoft will be a supporting sponsor of Sun Academy with the intent of continuing to improve the next generation on and off the court, implementing STEM programming that will enhance and add educational elements to Sun Academy basketball clinics throughout New England. Microsoft will be providing devices that the Sun Academy can use throughout its community clinics to aid in the learning journey of all Sun Academy participants.

Microsoft will also be helping shed light on the work behind the scenes, sponsoring a Day in the Life feature of the Connecticut Sun’s Basketball and Business Intelligence Analyst. The feature will highlight how Microsoft products are used in the Connecticut Sun front office to make decisions that will push the organization to be the best it can be.

Additionally, Microsoft will be a supporting sponsor of the Connecticut Sun’s Boston Game, being held at TD Garden on August 20 at 7:00 PM EST, helping the Sun celebrate the rise of women in sports all weekend long, prior to the game.

“We are thrilled to be working with Microsoft for a second season. Their commitment to education, analytical performance and community engagement match up very well with Connecticut Sun interests and values, and we admire their mission to foster and empower the next generation of well-rounded young women in athletics and STEM fields.” – Morgan Tuck, Connecticut Sun Director of Franchise Development and Assistant General Manager

The Connecticut Sun’s Home Opener will be against the Indiana Fever on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:30 PM EST. Individual tickets and season tickets are on sale now.
