Hightower Waived By Sun

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (May 10, 2017) – The Connecticut Sun announced today it has waived guard Allison Hightower.

A second round pick by the Sun in the 2010 WNBA Draft, Hightower had missed the previous two seasons due to knee injuries. A WNBA All-Star in 2013, the 5-foot-10 guard averaged 6.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 114 regular season games for the Sun in five seasons.

“We’d like to thank Allison for her contributions to the growth of the franchise during her tenure,” Sun head coach and general manager Curt Miller said. “We wish her all the best in the future.”

Hightower saw action in Connecticut’s first two preseason games, scoring two points while dishing out three assists.
