The Connecticut Sun to Partner with Moolah Kicks

Uncasville, CT (March 24, 2022) – The Connecticut Sun will partner with Moolah Kicks for the 2022 season, the Sun announced Thursday.

Moolah Kicks is the first footwear brand focused specifically on women’s basketball. Built by and for female basketball players, the company was founded in 2020 with the mission of holistically investing in women in basketball, by designing basketball apparel specifically for women and creating more sponsorship and financial opportunities in the women’s game. By tailoring their products to the female anatomy, Moolah Kicks seeks to elevate women’s basketball, while also reducing the risk of knee, ankle and leg injuries caused by putting women in shoes designed for men.

In honor of the Connecticut Sun’s 20th Anniversary celebration, Moolah Kicks and the Sun will be collaborating on a program called “Moolah Kicks for A Cause.” Moolah Kicks has provided award winning artist Wally Champ with Moolah Kicks Phantom 1|Ghost White Canvas sneakers to design Connecticut Sun limited edition shoes that are inspired by the following themes: Sun Legends, PRIDE, Title IX, Breast Health Awareness and Racial Justice. The Sun will celebrate “Moolah Kicks for A Cause” at homes games with corresponding themes during a pregame presentation with Connecticut Sun Sideline Reporter Terrika Foster-Brasby and a member of the local community that represents the causes behind each shoe edition—beginning with the Connecticut Sun’s 20th Anniversary celebration and home opener against the Los Angeles Sparks on May 14 at 7:00 P.M. EST.

“Moolah kicks is honored to collaborate with the Connecticut Sun going into the their 20th anniversary season. Everyone at the Connecticut Sun, from the front office to the players to the coaching staff and leadership team, embodies the values of purpose and performance in women’s basketball that we uphold at Moolah Kicks. I couldn’t think of a better partner to showcase those values with.” – Natalie White, Moolah Kicks Founder and CEO

In addition to “Moolah Kicks for A Cause,” Moolah Kicks will be the presenting sponsor of the 2022 Sun Suit Up team-building and empowerment program. Through this program, the Connecticut Sun will sponsor two AAU teams in 2022; outfitting the teams in Moolah Kicks and Sun-inspired uniforms, as well as covering their AAU tournament fees. Lastly, Moolah Kicks will be featured in the Connecticut Sun group ticket sales efforts, to build grassroots support for women’s basketball. Ten teams will be chosen to receive Moolah Kicks for their squad.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Moolah Kicks. From the moment I met Natalie, I knew Moolah Kicks would be the right partner for the Connecticut Sun. Natalie’s passion for elevating women’s basketball and creating a space where women feel seen and invested in is infectious. The Connecticut Sun is proud to work with a company committed to uplifting the next generation of basketball stars.” – Jen Rizzotti, Connecticut Sun President
