Sun Visit Liberty Monday Night

Brooklyn, NY: The Connecticut Sun (9-27) head to Brooklyn to take on the New York Liberty (22-15) on Monday, August 25 at 7:00 PM ET at the Barclays Center. The game will air locally on NBC Sports Boston with Brendan Glasheen and Ashley Battle on the call. It will also be available to stream on WNBA League Pass.

The Sun picked up a 94-84 road win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday, August 23. Tina Charles led the Sun with her 200th career-double-double, notching 23 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and one block in the win. She is the only player in league history to achieve the mark, as she picked up her 86th double-double in a Sun uniform and sixth double-double this season. After going six straight games in single-digit scoring, Bria Hartley exploded for 23 points, two rebounds and four assists in the game. Hartley shot 8/9 from the field, including a perfect 3/3 from beyond the three-point arc. Marina Mabrey added 20 points, four rebounds, a season-high eight assists and two steals in the win. With seven field goals made on the day, Mabrey eclipsed 1,000th field goals made in her WNBA career.

Last time out against the New York Liberty on Sunday, August 3, the Sun fell 87-78 at home in Uncasville. Four players finished in double-figures for the Sun, led by Tina Charles who notched 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Rookie forward Aneesah Morrow added 16 points and a team-high nine rebounds. The Sun enter Monday’s game with a 50-50 all-time regular season record against the Liberty, including a 21-28 record when playing on the road. Connecticut will look to pick up their first win at Barclays since August 24, 2024.

The Liberty enter Monday’s contest coming of a 78-62 loss to the Atlanta Dream on the road on Saturday afternoon. Forward Kennedy Burke led New York with 13 points and five rebounds, while Jonquel Jones added 11 points and Emma Meesseman notched 10 points. Head Coach Sandy Brondello enters her fourth season at the helm in New York, posting a regular season record of 102-51.
