Sun Host Lynx on Saturday Night

Uncasville, CT: The Connecticut Sun (10-28) return home to host the Minnesota Lynx (30-8) on Saturday, August 30 at 7:00 PM ET at Mohegan Sun Arena. The game will air locally on NBC Sports Boston with Brendan Glasheen, Edona Thaqi and Terrika Foster-Brasby on the call. It will also be available to stream on WNBA League Pass.

The Sun picked up another road win on August 27, defeating the Dallas Wings, 101-95. Rookie guard Leila Lacan led Connecticut in scoring for the second-straight game, tying her career-high with 22 points, three rebounds, six assists and four steals in the win. Lacan joined Caitlin Clark (2), Tamika Catchings (2) and Andrew Stinson as the only rookies in league history have recorded at least 22 points, six assists and four steals in a regular season contest. Marina Mabrey notched 18 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 30 minutes played in the game. Tina Charles also finished 18 points, along with five rebounds, three assists and one block in 27 minutes of action. Connecticut’s 101 points marked a new season-high in scoring and the team’s first-time hitting 100+ in a regular season game since August 16, 2024, also against the Dallas Wings (109).

Last time out against the Minnesota Lynx on June 29, the Sun fell 102-63, on the road in Minneapolis. Rookie forward Aneesah Morrow led Connecticut with a double-double. She finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, a career-high five steals and one block in 26 minutes of action. Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block in the effort. Connecticut enters Saturday’s game with a 32-29 all-time regular season record against Minnesota, including an 18-12 regular season record when playing at home.

The Lynx enter Saturday’s contest coming of a 93-79 loss to the Seattle Storm on Thursday night. Kayla McBride led Minnesota with 20 points, three rebounds and two assists, while Courtney Williams and Napheesa Collier each added 18 points apiece. The 2025 season marks Head Coach Cheryl Reeve’s 16th year as Lynx Head Coach. Reeve is 20-21 all-time against the Sun during the regular season.
