Sun Tip Off Against Lynx in First Road Game on Friday Night

Minneapolis, MN: The Connecticut Sun (0-2) hit the road for the first time this season as they take on the Minnesota Lynx (3-0) at the Target Center on Friday, May 23 at 7:30 PM ET/6:30 PM CT. The game will be nationally televised on ION and available to stream on WNBA League Pass.

The Sun are coming off a tough 87-62 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday. Tina Charles led Connecticut with her second 20-point performance of the year with 20 points and five rebounds. Rookie guard Saniya Rivers added 11 points off the bench in her WNBA debut. The Sun will look to bound back and secure their first win of the season against a veteran-heavy Lynx squad.

The Sun and Lynx met eight times during the 2024 regular and postseason. Connecticut won the regular season series, 2-1, but it was Minnesota who bested the Sun in the best-of-five WNBA Semifinals series, 3-2. Connecticut has won eight of the last ten regular season meetings with Minnesota, dating back to the 2022 season. They also have not lost a regular season match up on the road in Minneapolis since May 30, 2021.

Minnesota enters Friday’s matchup coming off an 85-81 win over the Dallas Wings on Wednesday night. Napheesa Collier led the Lynx with 28 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Forward Alanna Smith and guard Courtney Williams each added 13 points in the game. The 2025 season marks Head Coach Cheryl Reeve’s 16th year as Lynx Head Coach. Reeve is 18-21 all-time against the Sun during the regular season.
