Sun Host Aces Tuesday Night
Uncasville, CT: The Connecticut Sun (0-1) are back in action on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:00 PM ET as they host the Las Vegas Aces (0-1) at Mohegan Sun Arena. Both teams are looking for their first wins of the 2025 regular season. The game will air on NBC Sports Boston, with Brendan Glasheen, Edona Thaqi and Terrika Foster-Brasby on the call, and is also available to stream live on WNBA League Pass.
The Sun fell in their 2025 season opener against the Washington Mystics on Sunday, 90-85. Connecticut led by as many as 15 in the contest, but a late fourth-quarter surge by Washington helped them escape with a five-point victory. Tina Charles led the Sun in the loss with a double-double, notching 23 points and 10 rebounds. Fourth-year center Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 18 points of her own, including a career-high eight free-throws made in the effort. The franchise is now 13-14 all-time in season openers, including 4-3 over the last seven seasons.
The Sun dropped the regular season series with the Aces in 2024, 0-3. Las Vegas enters Tuesday’s matchup winning seven of the last 10 regular season matchups, dating back to the 2021 regular season and also six of the last seven.
The Aces suit up Tuesday coming off a 92-78 season opening loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday, May 17. Reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson led the way for Las Vegas in the effort, tallying 31 points and 16 rebounds, while three-time WNBA All-Star guard Jackie Young added 16 points, five rebounds and five assists. Las Vegas Head Coach Becky Hammon enters her fourth season with the Aces and holds an 87-30 all-time regular season record, as well as 7-2 regular season tally against the Sun.
