Season Highlights: 

Sun guard DeWanna Bonner etched her name in WNBA history books during the 2022 season. The 13-year veteran tallied her 6,000th career-point, 2,500th career-rebound, 900th career-assist and 500th career-steal this season, making her one of two players in league history to achieve all of those marks (Tamika Catchings). Bonner moved up in the WNBA record books to 12th all-time in scoring (6,184) and 10th all-time in rebounding (2,605) during the 2022 regular season. After 12 playoff contests, the 6-4 guard now sits sixth all-time in scoring (952), fourth all-time in rebounding (480), fourth all-time in steals (85) and third all-time in games played (73) in league postseason history. 

Most Notable Performances: 

  • July 13: Bonner tallied 19 points in an 89-81 win over the Indiana Fever, which moved her past 6,000 points in her WNBA career.  
  • July 24: In an 86-79  victory over Minnesota, Bonner dished out a career-high eight assists, along with nine points, six rebounds and five steals.  
  • August 24: Bonner led the Sun with a postseason-high 21 points, five rebounds, five assists and one block in their Game 3 win in the opening round of the playoffs against the Dallas Wings.
