Connecticut Sun Finalizes 2023 Training Camp Roster

Uncasville, CT (April 28, 2023) – Today, Connecticut Sun General Manager, Darius Taylor, and Head Coach, Stephanie White, finalized the 2023 training camp roster. The team will begin training camp on Sunday, April 30 in Uncasville, CT at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Sun’s training camp roster returns six players from the Sun’s 2022 WNBA Finals team, led by three-time WNBA All-Star and 2022 All-WNBA Second Team member Alyssa Thomas, 2022 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year Brionna Jones and four-time WNBA All Star Dewanna Bonner. Natisha Hiedeman, DiJonai Carrington and Nia Clouden also headline the returners from the 2022 Connecticut Sun team appearing at camp.

Rebecca Allen, Tyasha Harris, Tiffany Hayes and Olivia Nelson-Ododa will attend their first Sun training camp this season. Allen and Harris were acquired by Connecticut in January in a three-team trade with New York and Dallas. Nelson-Ododa was acquired in January in a trade with Los Angeles. Connecticut received the rights to Hayes in a trade with Atlanta in February. Shortly after the trade, the WNBA All-Star guard signed a one-year deal with the Sun.

Alexis Morris and Ashten Prechtel, the Sun’s two 2023 draftees, along with Kiara Smith, the Sun’s third round selection (No. 36) from the 2022 draft will also be in attendance. Smith missed the team’s 2022 training camp and season due to injury. Additionally, Caitlin Bickle, Lauren Cox, Jayla Everett, Mikiah Herbert Harrigan, Khaalia Hillsman, Victoria Macaulay and Lasha Petree will compete for a spot on the Connecticut Sun’s 2023 roster. Cox will be late to camp due to overseas commitments.

Connecticut’s preseason schedule includes exhibition games against the New York Liberty on May 10 in Uncasville, CT and against the Atlanta Dream on May 14 in Atlanta, GA.
