Connecticut Hosts New York in Commissioner's Cup Matchup Saturday
Uncasville, CT– The Connecticut Sun (9-0) continue their homestand hosting the New York Liberty (9-2) on Saturday, June 8 at 1:00 PM ET at Mohegan Sun Arena. The game will air on ABC and stream live on the ESPN app.
Last time out on Tuesday, the Connecticut Sun defeated the Washington Mystics, 76-59, at Mohegan Sun Arena. DeWanna Bonner led the Sun with 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in the win. The game marked her fifth 20+ point outing of the season and the seventh time she has led Connecticut in scoring this season.
With the win, the 2024 Connecticut Sun are now tied with the 2017 Minnesota Lynx, 2003 Los Angeles Sparks and 2001 Los Angeles Sparks for the fourth longest win streak to begin the season in WNBA history, staring the year with a 9-0 record. They are also now one of seven teams in WNBA history to start the regular season off with nine consecutive wins or better.
