Last Time Out:

The Sun fell to the Indiana Fever, 84-80, on Wednesday night in Indianapolis. The loss marked the Sun’s first regular season loss to the Fever since the 2021 season, as the team entered the contest winners of the last 11 meetings. DiJonai Carrington led Connecticut in scoring in the effort with 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and a career-high six steals. Alyssa Thomas notched 17 points, marking her best scoring outing post-Olympic break thus far. With nine points in the game, Ty Harris eclipsed 1,000 points in her WNBA career. Despite the loss, Connecticut notched a season-high 25 fast break points, outscoring Indiana 25-5 in transition on the night.

Final Stretch Ahead:

The Sun have made it through 75% of their regular season schedule, with 10 regular season games remaining. Connecticut clinched a spot in the 2024 WNBA playoffs back on August 24 and will now look to finish as one of the league’s top teams as the regular season comes to a close. As of games through August 29, the Sun currently boast the third best record in the league at 22-8, sitting only 0.5 a game back from the second ranked Lynx (23-8) and three games back from the top-seeded Liberty (26-6). If the Sun are able to win six or more of their remaining 10 regular season games, the team will set a new franchise record for most wins in a single season (previously 27 games set in 2023). Connecticut will play five games at home and five games on the road to close out the regular season.
