Sun and Fever Meet in Game 2 of Playoffs Wednesday Night

Uncasville, CT: The Connecticut Sun (28-12, 1-0) host the Indiana Fever (20-20, 0-1) in Game 2 of the First Round of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs on Wednesday, September 25 at 7:30 PM ET at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Sun currently lead the best of three series, 1-0, and will look to advance to the WNBA Semifinals with a win on Wednesday night. The game will air on ESPN and stream live on the ESPN app.

The Connecticut Sun defeated the Indiana Fever, 93-69, in Game 1 of the First Round of the WNBA Playoffs on Sunday afternoon. Marina Mabrey led the Sun in scoring in the win with a postseason career-high 27 points, three rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes off the bench. Her 27 points marked a new WNBA postseason record for most points by a single player coming off the bench. Alyssa Thomas tallied her fourth postseason triple-double and 15th of her career (11 regular season). She finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. The triple-double also marks her second triple-double of the season against the Indiana Fever, previously notching one in the Sun’s season opener on May 14.

Their first playoff meeting came during the 2005 Eastern Conference Finals, where the Sun swept the Fever, 2-0. Indiana returned the favor in the 2007 Eastern Conference Semifinals, winning the series, 2-1. Prior to this year, their last playoff meeting came 12 years ago in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals. The Fever won the series, 2-1, ultimately winning the WNBA Finals that season. The Sun went 3-1 against the Fever during the 2024 regular season, dropping their first game against Indiana since the 2021 season.
