Uncasville, CT (September 30, 2021) – The Connecticut Sun announced today that Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union, a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, will be making a $5,000 contribution to the Connecticut Sun Foundation to support the team’s work in the community. During Game 2 of the playoffs, there will be a half-court check presentation from a Nutmeg State executive to Connecticut Sun team President, Jen Rizzotti.

After hearing about the Connecticut Sun campaign, “Change Can’t Wait,” Nutmeg State FCU President and CEO John Holt was impressed with the Sun’s values and mission on and off the court to make an impact in the community and wanted to help the Connecticut Sun Foundation.

The Connecticut Sun are currently 26-6 overall and 15-1 at home, breaking the record for longest streak to finish out a regular season in WNBA history with 14 games and best home game winning streak in the league this year. In addition to their stellar record, the Sun have collected multiple individual awards with four players (January, J. Jones, B. Jones, Thomas) taking one of the ten WNBA All-Defensive Teams spots, Brionna Jones receiving Most Improved Player, Jonquel Jones winning Most Valuable Player and WNBA Peak Performer for rebounding, and Curt Miller earning Coach of the Year.
