Game Notes
- Connecticut (18-6) clinched a playoff spot for the fifth straight year as they defeated the Las Vegas Aces (17-7), 76-62. The Sun swept the three-game series over the Aces.
- This is the eleventh time this season where the Sun kept their opponents to 70 points or less. The Sun also hold the best home record in the league at 11-1.
- Las Vegas led 11-6 with 4:43 to go in the first quarter. Connecticut went on a 13-4 run to end the quarter and grab a four point lead (19-15).
- The Aces cut their deficit to two (34-32) with 1:05 to go in the half. Brionna Jones and Briann January finished out the half with two three-point plays to extend their lead back up to eight (40-32). This was the second lowest amount of points scored at half by Las Vegas all season. The first was when they scored 30 first half points, also against the Sun, on June 1.
- Las Vegas outscored Connecticut 22-18 to cut their deficit to four (58-54) going into the fourth quarter.
- The Sun finished the game outscoring the Aces 18-8. Nine of DeWanna Bonner’s 18 points came in the fourth quarter. Bonner scored in double figures for the fourth straight game.
- Briann January earned a new season-high in points, finishing the night with 19, twelve of which came in the first half.
- Brionna Jones added 15 points of her own and Jonquel Jones earned a game-high 10 rebounds.
- Bonner passed Teresa Weatherspoon to become 21st on the WNBA all-time steals list (466).
- A’ja Wilson was held below her average, finishing the night with 4 points. Wilson made one field goal which marked a new regular season career-low. She shot 1-of-15 from the field on the night.
- Chelsea Gray led Las Vegas with 15 points and shot 7-11 from the field.
- Liz Cambage and Dearica Hamby were the only other players from Las Vegas to reach double figures. Both scored 13 points and Cambage added a team-tying six rebounds.
- Connecticut scored 34 points in the paint compared to the Aces’ 28. The Sun had 11 second chance points where Las Vegas only had three. The Las Vegas bench outscored Connecticut 19-8.
