Uncasville, CT (May 18, 2023) – Today, the Connecticut Sun announced its broadcast schedule for the 2023 regular season. Embarking on the first year of a new deal between the Connecticut Sun and NBC Sports Boston, 31 games will be locally televised on NBC Sports Boston. The television schedule also features five games on ESPN/ESPN3, four games on ION, and one game on CBS and ABC, respectively. This schedule may be subject to change.

The Sun’s national broadcast slate will begin with Connecticut’s game on Saturday, May 27 at 1:00 PM EST against the New York Liberty at Barclays Center, airing on CBS. NBC Sports Boston’s broadcast schedule will start with the Sun’s season opener against the Indiana Fever on May 19 at 7:00 PM EST at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Additional viewing partners of the WNBA include Amazon Prime Video, CBS Sports Network, WNBA League Pass, NBA TV, Twitter Live, and Meta VR. The Sun will have five games on CBS Sports Network, one game on Twitter Live and Meta VR, seven games on Amazon Prime Video, and seven games on NBA TV. WNBA League Pass games are blacked out in New England—excepting New Haven, Waterbury, and Fairfield County in Connecticut—while NBC Sports Boston games are airing live. Fan living in New Haven, Waterbury, Fairfield County wishing to watch games being aired on NBC Sports Boston should watch on the NBC Sports app or on WNBA League Pass.

2023 Broadcast Team

The Connecticut Sun’s games will be called by a very talented group of broadcasters for the 2023 season: Brendan Glasheen, Terrika Foster-Brasby, Andraya Carter, Ashley Battle and Julianne Viani-Braen.

Brendan Glasheen returns for his third season with the Connecticut Sun and will provide play-by-play commentary for Sun games. The Syracuse graduate is also the play-by-play announcer for the Maine Celtics, the G League affiliate of the Boston Celtics, on NBC Sports Boston. Glasheen is also an on-air contributor at The Action Network and 98.5 The Sports Hub.

“I am grateful to continue broadcasting Connecticut Sun basketball. And I am especially lucky because we have a loaded team of analysts,” said Glasheen. “Terrika, Andraya, Ashley and Julianne are proven pillars of women’s basketball coverage. I am excited to work with each of them and capture every moment of this upcoming season. Our goals are to bring fans an informative and enjoyable call, as well as set the standard as the best local broadcast in the WNBA. I cannot wait!”

Terrika Foster-Brasby is in her second season as sideline reporter for the Connecticut Sun and is making her debut as color analyst during select road games. A 2010 HBCU alumna from Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, NC, Foster-Brasby also serves as reporter and on-air analyst for ESPN and is most notably known as co-host of ESPN’s Around the Rim women’s basketball show. She has appeared on WNBA Hoop Streams, BBTN (Baseball Tonight) Live and has been featured on several platforms, including Andscape, WSlam Magazine, MSNBC, NBC Sports, FOX Sports and the New York Times. When not covering sports, Foster-Brasby can be seen participating in community outreach projects with her sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., to which she serves as president of the Theta Alpha Sigma Alumnae Chapter in Hartford, CT.

I look forward to telling the necessary stories that will assist the fans in getting to know this team, but I also excited to work alongside Brendan in an expanded role, as we both remain committed to bringing the most entertaining, most informative, and most fun broadcast to Sun fans everywhere.”

Andraya Carter joined ESPN in 2018 as a game analyst, working primarily on SEC Network. Over the past three years, Carter has established herself as one of the rising stars of ESPN’s comprehensive basketball coverage. In addition to her studio and commentating roles on both women’s college basketball and the WNBA, she has added college football sideline reporting to her repertoire, as well as co-hosting Out of Pocket with SEC Network host and reporter Alyssa Lang. The Lady Vol for Life has received a significant amount of acclaim in the 2022-23 season, as she was honored as the 2023 Dawn Staley Excellence in Broadcasting recipient, a 2022 University of Tennessee Alumni Promise Award winner, NSMA’s Best Young Reporter for 2022, and was named to The Athletic’s 40 Under 40: Rising Stars in Women’s Basketball, The Athletic’s 40 Under 40 in College Sports and The Athletic’s 20 for 20: Who’s Shaping the Future of Women’s Basketball. The Flowery Branch, Ga. native is a double graduate of The University of Tennessee and was a three-year letterwinner for the Lady Vols.

“I am so excited to join the Connecticut Sun broadcast team this season,” said Carter. “I am thrilled, especially, to be a part of Stephanie White’s first season as the head coach. I covered Coach White at the college level and worked alongside her on ESPN, and I have an incredible respect for her basketball mind. I have always admired Jen Rizzotti and all that she has given to the game of basketball, and I look forward to learning from her, as well. Jen and Coach White have a high standard of excellence, and the Connecticut Sun have a rich history of success and fan support. Those aspects plus the energy of multiple new pieces coming to the team this season all combine to make this an incredible opportunity. I look forward to bringing my best every game.”

Ashley Battle enters her first season on the Sun’s broadcast team. Battle—a three-time NCAA Champion with the University of Connecticut Huskies and former WNBA player—is an accomplished athlete, entrepreneur, and broadcaster. Currently, Battle is the Assistant General Manager for the Maine Celtics, and was the first female scout for the Boston Celtics.

“I’m looking forward to joining the Sun’s broadcast team,” said Battle. “Connecticut has always been a second home for me, having played for the all-time winningest school down the street. I can’t wait to get going.”

Julianne Viani-Braen works as a basketball analyst for a variety of networks, covering men’s and women’s college basketball for YES Network, CBS Sports Network, NBC Network, and Westwood One Radio. Previously, the Poughkeepsie, NY native worked for Next VR, the NBA’s first live virtual reality broadcast. Viani-Braen played college basketball at Marist College, where she made the MAAC All-Rookie Team in 2005-06 and started all four seasons. The Red Foxes won the MAAC Regular Season and Tournament championships and played in the NCAA tournament in all four of Viani-Braen’s years. She was the first player in school history to go to the NCAA tournament all four years. In 2006-07, she led the program to their first-ever Sweet 16, making Marist the Cinderella story of that year’s tournament.
