Connecticut Signs Jazmine Jones

Uncasville, CT (June 15, 2022)- Today, the Connecticut Sun announced that team has signed guard Jazmine Jones. Per team policy, no details were released.

Jones was selected by the New York Liberty with the 12th overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft and saw action in 20 games for the Liberty in her rookie campaign. The 6-0 guard out of Louisville averaged 10.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals during her first year in the league. Across all WNBA rookies during the 2020 season, Jones ranked first in steals, third in rebounds and fourth in points.

In 2021, Jones played in 27 contests with the Liberty, averaging 5.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.4 blocks per game. Prior to the 2022 season, she was claimed off waivers by the Indiana Fever in February. Jones participated in the Fever’s training camp but was eventually waived by the team in late April.

Jones was just the fourth player in Louisville program history to be selected in the first round of the WNBA draft. She also set the record for most games played in program history, after recording minutes in 144 career contests with the Cardinals.
