Season Highlights:

The 2022 WNBA season was a comeback for the ages for Sun forward Alyssa Thomas. The league veteran returned to Connecticut after recovering from a torn Achilles tendon during the 2021 season. Thomas averaged a career-high 6.1 assists per game during the 2022 campaign, which landed at fourth in the WNBA. She also recorded two regular-season triple-doubles, making her the first player to record a triple-double in Sun history, as well as one of three players to record multiple triple-doubles in a single-season in WNBA history (C. Parker and S. Ionescu).

Thomas picked up Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors twice (5/23, 7/25) and Eastern Conference Player of the Month twice (May and July) this season. The 6-2 forward was named the 2022 AP Comeback Player of the Year, AP and All-WNBA Second Team and WNBA All-Defensive Second Team. Thomas ended the Sun’s playoff run in historic fashion, notching back-to-back triple-doubles in Games 3 and 4 of the WNBA Finals making her the first player to ever record a triple-double in a Finals contest.
