USA TODAY Named Sun President Jennifer Rizzotti Connecticut 'Woman of the Year'

Uncasville, CT (February 28, 2025)-  Today, USA TODAY announced that Connecticut Sun President Jennifer Rizzotti is one of the honorees for the publication’s Women of the Year. Rizzotti represents the state of Connecticut amongst the 61 women honored by USA TODAY across the country inspiring the next generation.

Rizzotti, entering her fifth season at the helm of the Sun, has led the organization to significant success on and off the court. Bringing her wealth of knowledge as a former WNBA player and collegiate basketball coach, her leadership has been instrumental in enhancing the team’s business operations. Notably under Rizzotti’s guidance, the organization has focused on expanding the team’s fans base and market presence throughout the greater New England region. Last season, she helped orchestrate a sold-out game at Boston’s TD Garden, marking the first professional women’s basketball game at the venue.

In addition to her leadership with the Connecticut Sun, Rizzotti is well-known in basketball circles around the world, most notably as an assistant coach to the USA Basketball Women’s National Team, with whom she won a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She is also currently the USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team head coach and added 2023 USA Basketball 3×3 Coach of the Year to her resume after leading three 3×3 teams to gold at the 2023 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, the 2023 3×3 Women’s Pan American Games, and the 2023 FIBA 3×3 Americup. In 2024, Rizzotti led the 2024 USA 3×3 Women’s National Team to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the team earned a bronze medal and won 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Coach of the Year for her performance.
