The Connecticut Sun Select Aneesah Morrow, Saniya Rivers and Rayah Marshall in the 2025 WNBA Draft

Uncasville, CT (April 14, 2025) – The Connecticut Sun selected Aneesah Morrow (No. 7), Saniya Rivers (No. 8) and Rayah Marshall (No. 25) in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Aneesah Morrow [pronounced uh-nee-suh] comes to Connecticut after finishing her decorated collegiate career at Louisiana State University (LSU). The 6-1 forward played her freshman and sophomore seasons at DePaul University before transferring to LSU for her last two seasons. During her senior campaign, Morrow led LSU with 18.7 points per game and led the NCAA with 13.5 rebounds per game, marking the second time in career doing so (13.8 rpg as a freshman in 2021-22). Morrow also set an LSU single season record with 1,211 minutes played. The Chicago native cemented herself in the NCAA DI history books, finishing her collegiate career second all-time in double-doubles (104), third all-time in rebounds (1,714) and 25th all-time in scoring (2,852). Morrow earned a plethora of honors over time at LSU and DePaul including the Katrina McClain Award (2025), First Team All-America (WBCA, Wooden Award, USBWA) (2025), First Team All-SEC (2024, 25), Freshman of the Year (Big East, USBWA, WBCA) (2022), SEC All-Defensive Team (2025) and First-Team All-Big East (2022, 23).

Saniya Rivers [pronounced suh-NYE-uh] joins the Sun after finishing her successful collegiate career at North Carolina State University. The 6-1 guard played her freshman season at the University of South Carolina before transferring to NC State for her last three seasons. During her final year with the Wolfpack, Rivers averaged 11.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and a team-best 3.8 assists per game. She is also the only player in program history with at least 1,100 points, 600 rebounds, 350 assists, 180 steals and 100 blocks in an NC State uniform, accomplishing the feat in just three seasons. The Wilmington, North Carolina native has picked up All-America Honorable Mention (2024, 25), All-ACC First Team (2024, 25), ACC All-Defensive Team (2024, 25) and ACC Sixth Player of the Year (2023) honors. Rivers helped the Wolfpack to an ACC regular season title (2025), as well as the program’s first Final Four appearance (2024) since the 1998 season.

Rayah Marshall [pronounced RAY-uh] comes to Connecticut after finishing her impressive collegiate career at the University of Southern California (2021-2025). The 6-4 forward averaged 10.4 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.5 blocks over 121 games played for the Trojans. Over the course of her career, Marshall has picked up numerous honors including Big Ten All-Defensive Team (2025), All-Pac 12 First Team (2023), Pac-12 All-Defensive Team (2023) and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team (2022). The Los Angeles native became the eighth player in USC women’s basketball history to surpass 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds during her final season with the program. Marshall helped lead USC to back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances (2024, 25), as well as the 2024 Pac-12 tournament and 2025 Big-Ten regular season championship title.
