Sun Sign Brianna Kiesel

Uncasville, Conn. (March 22, 2019) – The Connecticut Sun announced today it has signed 5-foot-7 guard Brianna Kiesel to a training camp contract.

 

A native of Utica, NY, Kiesel currently plays for Pszczolka AZS-UMCS in Poland, where she is averaging 20.3 points, 4.1 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 steals in 16 games. She is also shooting 48 percent from the field. Her 20.3 points per game is second in the Polish league and her 2.4 steals per game leads the league.

 

Selected 13th overall in the 2015 WNBA Draft by the Tulsa Shock, Kiesel played in all 34 games for the Shock that season, starting 15. She averaged 5.1 points and 1.9 assists and had a career-high 28 points against the Phoenix Mercury on September 13, 2015.

 

Kiesel spent part of the 2016 season with the Dallas Wings and was with the Atlanta Dream in 2017. In 57 career WNBA games, she has averaged 3.5 points and 1.6 assists per game.

 

A three-year captain at Pitt, Kiesel earned First Team All-ACC honors as a senior in 2015 and is the only player in program history to lead the team in points and assists four years in a row. She is No. 5 on Pitt’s all-time scoring list with 1,938 points.
