Stephanie Jones Accepts Qualifying Offer, Returning to Connecticut

Uncasville, CT (January 28, 2022) – Today, the Connecticut Sun announced that Stephanie Jones has signed the offer extended by Head Coach and General Manager, Curt Miller.

 

Per team policy, no details were released.

 

“Steph was our glue player throughout the 2021 season,” said Miller. “She is an excellent and unselfish teammate with a high basketball IQ. She is having an­other fantastic international season, and we look forward to having her back in Connecticut competing for a roster spot in our upcoming 2022 season.”

 

In her rookie season, Jones saw the court in 18 games. She played 99 minutes and finished the season with 25 points, 22 rebounds and 12 made field goals. In a win against the Atlanta Dream on September 19, Jones tallied a career high in points (5) and rebounds (5).

 

The 6-2 forward from Havre de Grace, MD continues to grow her game overseas playing for Gorzow Wielkopolski. Jones currently averages 14.8 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game in 28 minutes per game. Her overseas play has been highlighted by 11 games with 10+ points, and two double-doubles.
