Connecticut Sun Waives Leigha Brown, Rennia Davis and Shey Peddy

Uncasville, CT (May 5, 2024) – Today, the Connecticut Sun announced that the team has waived guards Leigha Brown, Rennia Davis and Shey Peddy.

Brown was acquired by the Sun in a trade with the Atlanta Dream prior to the 2023 season. She appeared in 25 regular season games for Connecticut last season, tallying 21 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists, five steals and two blocks over 130 minutes played. Brown recorded a career-high five points twice in 2023, against Las Vegas on July 1 and against New York on September 1.

Davis signed a training camp contract with the Sun on February 2, 2024. She was originally drafted 9th overall in the 2021 WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx out of the University of Tennessee. Davis was sidelined her rookie season due to a stress fracture in her left foot. She made her WNBA debut during the 2022 season in one contest with the Lynx before being waived by the team. Davis then signed with the Indiana Fever in July 2022, where she appeared in seven games.

Peddy signed a training camp contract with the Sun on February 16, 2024. Peddy was originally drafted 23rd overall in the 2012 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky but did not make her WNBA debut until the 2019 season where she played 15 contests with the Washington Mystics. The 5-7 guard began the 2020 season with the Mystics but was waived by the team and then picked up by the Phoenix Mercury later in the season. Peddy has played her last four seasons with the Mercury from 2020-2023. Over 116 career games, she has averaged 6.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.
