- DeWanna Bonner playing her first game at Mohegan Sun Arena as a member of the Sun was one of four Sun players to score in double figures with a season and game-high 27 points in the 86-78 win. Bonner also grabbed her 18th consecutive game in double figures. She sits tied with Elena Delle Donne at four.
- Natisha Hiedeman finished with a career-high 17 points while Jonquel Jones had her first double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. This is her 40th double-double of her career. Briann January had a season-high 15 points and a game-high six assists. Brionna Jones had season-highs with nine points and nine rebounds.
- Bonner had 10 points to lead all scorers in the first quarter. At the half, Bonner had a game-high 18 points and the rest of her team had 19 total points for a 37-33 halftime lead. Four players scored in the first half for the Sun as Jonquel Jones and Hiedeman each had seven points and January added five points.
- Bonner was 6 of 11 in the first half and a perfect 2 for 2 from behind the arc and 4 for 4 from the foul line in the first half and finished 7 of 18 from the floor 3 of 5 from 3-point range and made 10 of 12 from the foul line.
- Phoenix took a 73-71 lead on a jumper by Kia Nurse with 3:00 left before the Sun scored nine straight for an 80-73 lead with 1:44 left.
- The Sun trailed 21-13 with 2:24 left in the opening quarter before Connecticut scored 13 straight for a 26-21 lead with 7:09 left in the half.
- The Mercury didn’t make a field goal in the second quarter until a layup by Brianna Turner with 3:18 left to cut the deficit to 30-26.
