Connecticut Sun Sign Victoria Macaulay to Training Camp Contract

Uncasville, CT (February 15, 2023) – The Connecticut Sun has signed Victoria Macaulay to a training camp contract, the team announced today.

 

Macaulay, a Nigerian American, has found great success at the international level with the Nigerian National Team, winning gold in the FIBA Women’s Afrobasket tournaments in 2019 and 2021 and making her Olympic debut in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She is currently playing overseas with Botas, a Turkish basketball club, averaging 14.6 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Over her international career, Macaulay has also played in Poland, Greece, France and Italy.

 

“Victoria is a very athletic and high energy post player that brings experience, grit and unique skills to our organization,” remarked Sun General Manager, Darius Taylor. “We look forward to bringing her into camp to evaluate her talent and fit with our team.”

 

The 6-4 forward out of Temple University made appearances for the Chicago Sky during both the 2015 and 2019 seasons before ultimately being waived by the team both years. She has also had training camp stints with the Connecticut Sun (2016) and Indiana Fever (2014, 2017).

 

The Sun tip off the 2023 season on Friday, May 19 at the Indiana Fever at 7:00 PM EST.
