Connecticut Sun Hosted Madam President: Lunch and Learn with Women CEOs Event
West Hartford, CT (March 12, 2026) – On Thursday, March 12, the Connecticut Sun hosted its first event in the organization’s “From the Court to the C-Suite” series Madam President: Lunch and Learn with Women CEOs at the Pond House Café in West Hartford. This panel, moderated by NBC Connecticut’s Abbey Carnivale, featured inspiring female leaders including Yvonne Alston, Chief Culture Architect, CEO and Founder of Indelible Impressions; Beth Raboin, Founder and CEO of Global Medical Virtual Assistants; and Jen Rizzotti, President of the Connecticut Sun. The session focused on C-suite journeys, leadership skills, and strategies for aspiring female executives to thrive. This event allowed a firsthand perspective for attendees to hear from women who are leading at the highest level and sharing the lessons that shaped their journey.
During the panel, Yvonne Alston focused her messaging on being authentic and consistent as a leader. She emphasized having integrity and being accountable because the person in charge creates the culture that people engage with daily. Alston also spoke about mentorship and taking time to figure out your identity because she has witnessed people being boxed in by their own impressions, assumptions, and barriers. Beth Raboin encouraged the attendees to find a champion and surround themselves with people who make them better, encourage accountability, and teach something new each day. Jen Rizzotti talked to the group about giving yourself permission to lead because you’re capable and ready more than you realize. Additionally, she remarked that leadership transfers, and it’s important to take the qualities you learned as an athlete, invite the possibility of being part of something bigger than yourself, and lean into your values to get through adversity.
The second event in the “From the Court to the C-Suite” series—Fired Up: How a Dark Moment Led Me to the Light—takes place on March 31 from 6:30-8:00PM EST at the Quinnipiac University Club (305 Sherman Ave. Hamden, CT 06518). To register, click here.
