Uncasville, CT (April 14, 2022) – Today, Connecticut Sun Head Coach and General Manager Curt Miller finalized the 2022 training camp roster. The team will begin training camp Sunday, April 17 in Uncasville, CT at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The Sun head into training camp with a 20-player roster; however, due to overseas commitments, DeWanna Bonner, Brionna Jones, Alyssa Thomas and Beatrice Mompremier will arrive late. Jonquel Jones, the 2021 WNBA MVP, and Courtney Williams, 2021 All-Star and veteran guard, highlight the Sun’s training camp roster. Other returners from the 2021 Sun team that will be at camp include guards Natisha Hiedeman and Kaila Charles, and 2021 rookies Dijonai Carrington and Stephanie Jones.
Two of the Sun’s three draftees–Nia Clouden (No. 12) and Jordan Lewis (No. 24) will also be in attendance. Kiki Smith, the Sun’s third 2022 draftee, will not be in attendance due to injury and will miss the 2022 season. Additionally, seven other players received an invite to training camp this season. Yvonne Anderson, Taj Cole, Alexus Dye, Aleksa Gulbe, Keyona Hayes, Joyner Holmes and Delicia Washington will compete for a spot on the Connecticut Sun’s 2022 roster. Anderson will be late to camp due to overseas commitments.
By no later than 5:00 P.M. EST on May 5, the Sun will announce its opening day roster. Connecticut’s preseason schedule includes a closed scrimmage versus the New York Liberty on April 26 and an exhibition game versus the Atlanta Dream on May 1.

Connecticut will tip-off the 2022 season on Saturday, May 7 against the New York Liberty. The Sun will return to Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, May 14 for its Home Opener and 20th Anniversary Celebration against the Los Angeles Sparks at 7:00 P.M. EST.
