Connecticut Sun Acquires Queen Egbo

Trade rights to Bernadett Határ and 2025 second round pick to Washington

Uncasville, CT (May 7, 2024) – Today, the Connecticut Sun announced that the organization has acquired forward-center Queen Egbo in a trade with the Washington Mystics, in exchange for the rights to Bernadett Határ and the Sun’s 2025 second round pick.

“We’re excited to welcome Queen Egbo to our team,” remarked Sun General Manager Darius Taylor. “She brings toughness, rebounding and rim protection that will add to the value of our roster.”

Egbo was originally drafted 10th overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. The 6-4 forward-center played with the Fever during the 2022 season, where she started in 31 of the 33 games played and picked up WNBA All-Rookie Team honors. In 2023, Egbo played in 16 contests for Indiana before being traded to the Washington Mystics last July. Over 70 career games, Egbo has averaged 6.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per outing. Prior to the WNBA, the Texas native was a standout at Baylor University where she finished her career fifth all-time in blocks in program history (183).

Connecticut will tip off the 2024 regular season on Tuesday, May 14 against the Indiana Fever at 7:30 PM EST at Mohegan Sun Arena.
