Connecticut Signs Stephanie Jones to Hardship Contract

Uncasville, CT (May 31, 2022) – The Connecticut Sun announced today that the team has signed forward Stephanie Jones to a hardship contract. Per team policy, no details were released.

In 2021, Jones signed a training camp contract with Connecticut and made the team roster. In her rookie campaign, Jones played in 18 games and tallied a total of 99 minutes with the Sun. She notched 25 points, 22 rebounds and made 12 field goals. In January 2022, Jones accepted a qualifying offer from Connecticut and returned to the team’s training camp. In the Sun’s lone preseason game in 2022 against Atlanta, Jones had 11 points and one rebound in 13 minutes off the bench. She was waived by the team earlier this month.

Most recently, Jones signed a hardship contract with the Washington Mystics on May 6, where she appeared in three contests before being released. She averaged 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 0.3 steals.

The Sun visit the Las Vegas Aces tonight, May 31, at 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PM PT at Michelob Ultra Arena. This will be the Sun’s first of a two-game series against the Aces this week.
