Clarendon Undergoes Ankle Surgery

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (June 25, 2019) – Connecticut Sun guard Layshia Clarendon underwent successful ankle surgery Tuesday at Yale New Haven Hospital.

The surgery, a repair of the peroneal retinaculum and stabilization of the dislocated peroneal tendons in her right ankle, was performed by Dr. Raymond Walls in consultation with Dr. Michel Medvecky. The expected recovery time is three to four months.

In nine games this season before suffering the injury in practice, Clarendon averaged 6.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. She had a season-best nine points twice and dished out a season-high four assists on June 16th in the win over Seattle.
