Anthony Sanders is a Senior Account Executive for the Connecticut Sun and has been with the Sun for five years. He is from Meriden, Connecticut and went to Mount Ida College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. Upon graduation, he took many different routes before joining the Sun family. Anthony consistently communicates with fans and makes sure they have the best Sun experiences on game days and within the community. Read more about Anthony’s thoughts below:

What was your path prior to working for the Sun?

“My path to the Sun wasn't linear.  After college I spent several years gaining experiences that helped me grow personally and professionally, which prepared me for the role I'm in today!”

This year's Black History Month theme is "A Century of Black History Commemorations," celebrating the 100th anniversary of celebrating Black History Month. When you think of Black History Month, what comes to mind?

“I think of the resilience, strength, determination, and sacrifice. Those qualities are the reason why Black history is able to be commemorated and remembered today, and they continue to influence progress across generations.”

What does legacy mean to you?

“To me, legacy means the impact that you create can live on beyond you and continue to influence future generations.”

What legacy do you want to leave?

“I want to leave a legacy that shows the sky is the limit. It’s not about where you start or come from, but how you finish. It's never too late to make a change, even when the odds are stacked against you.”

What is your favorite Black History Month memory?

“My favorite memory would be the church gathering for kids in my hometown to teach us about Black History Month and bringing us to a part of the freedom trail.”

How do you hope Black History Month continues to be celebrated?

“I hope it continues to be able to be celebrated and we continue to have the Black culture celebrated yearly to recognize the huge impact we have in our society today.”
