2025 Player Season Recaps: Haley Peters Makes Her WNBA Return with the Sun
Uncasville, CT- Haley Peters made a strong return to the WNBA in 2025, joining the Connecticut Sun after signing a training camp contract on February 24. In her first season back since 2019, Peters appeared in 33 games, including two starts, marking her most regular season action since 2016 with San Antonio.
She averaged 2.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.3 steals per game, providing steady contributions off the bench. Peters made her first career WNBA start on June 8 against the Washington Mystics and delivered a season-high 12 points on May 23 at the Minnesota Lynx.
A native of Red Bank, New Jersey, Peters brought a wealth of professional experience to the Sun. She previously played in the WNBA with the San Antonio Silver Stars (2016–17), Washington Mystics (2017), and Atlanta Dream (2019). Her career also includes extensive overseas play, where she most recently competed for ESB Villeneuve d’Ascq, a French club and EuroLeague member, during the 2024-25 season.
Peters has also played internationally for Flammes Carolo, Lattes Montpellier (France), Hatay (Turkey), and Virtus Bologna (Italy), bringing high-level of experience to the Sun.
Before turning pro, Peters was a standout at Duke University (2010–2014), earning All-ACC Second Team honors in 2013 and Third Team honors in 2012. She helped lead the Blue Devils to two ACC Tournament Championships and three ACC regular season titles, cementing her legacy as a key contributor in one of the nation’s top programs.
Her return to the WNBA this season added depth and experience to the Sun’s roster, reinforcing her value as a versatile and seasoned forward.
