Sun Sign Danielle Adams

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (February 22, 2017) – The Connecticut Sun announced today it has signed Danielle Adams to a training camp contract.

No terms were released.

“We are excited about the opportunity to bring Danielle Adams into camp to compete for a roster spot,” Sun head coach and general manager Curt Miller said. “She has been a proven scorer during her time in the WNBA and consistently creates match-up advantages at the offensive end. She is currently playing well in Israel and is motivated for the opportunity to rejoin the league.”

Originally selected in the second round with the 20th overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft by the San Antonio Stars after leading Texas A&M to its first NCAA National Championship, the 6-foot-1 forward earned All-Rookie Team honors that year.

Appearing in 155 games with 45 starts through the 2015 season, Adams scored 1,771 points with 176 three-pointers, and also pulled down 659 rebounds. She averaged 11.4 points and 4.3 rebounds while playing 20.9 minutes per game. She had a career-high 39 points at Atlanta on September 15, 2013, and had 11 rebounds in a game three times.

Currently in Israel, Adams is averaging 20.8 points and 8.8 rebounds in 16 games for Bnot Maccabi Ramat Gan. On Monday, she had 16 points and six rebounds in an 87-68 win over H.R. Le-Zion.
