Connecticut Sun Waive Weisner, O’Neill

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (May 12, 2016) – The Connecticut Sun announced today it has waived Jamie Weisner and Jennifer O’Neill.

Weisner is a 5-foot-10 guard who was selected in the second round with the 17th overall pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft out of Oregon State, where she earned Pac-12 Player of the Year honors as a senior. O’Neill is a 5-foot-5 guard who was signed to a training camp contract on February 16th.

Those two roster cuts, combined with the arrival of veteran forward Camille Little, who joined the team after completing her overseas commitment in Italy, complete the 12-player Sun roster for 2016.

Connecticut opens the 2016 regular season in Chicago on May 14th. The Sun play their first home game on May 21st at Mohegan Sun Arena, hosting the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting connecticutsun.com or calling 877-SUN-TIXX.
